SpecialTeas is located in Downtown Carson City and is much more than just a tea shop!
OUR TEA SHOP & CAFE
We serve only premium loose leaf teas, rotated on a monthly basis; our menu changes on the first of each month. Majority of our teas are steeped without any sweeteners or dairy for a healthier option. We also have sweeteners and dairy/non-dairy on the side so you can customize any tea to your liking. For customers with a sweet tooth, we also offer iced shaken sweet teas. These iced teas are shaken with your choice of our house black or jasmine green teas.
Besides tea, we also serve high quality, made from scratch baked goods and food. Everything is prepared in small batches and in house by Kat and Earl Dela Cruz. In the mornings, you can find sweet and savory baked goods that are rotated regularly. For our lunch items, you can look forward to our very popular chicken pot pies, spring rolls, sandwiches, panini, and side salads. In the fall and winter, you can also expect to find our delicious made from scratch soups.
OUR LOOSE LEAF TEA & TEAWARE
By popular demand, we started selling loose leaf teas in 2016. Originally, we didn't know so many customers were interested in purchasing loose leaf teas to steep at home or the office. We have a few separate tea lines available. Artisan Blends is our most popular tea line and is what we serve on our menu at the tea shop. We also carry high end teas from Asia and an organic tea line.
We also have a variety of high quality infuser teapots and infuser tea mugs for purchase. A portion of the sale of each Grosche teaware product funds the Safe water project that creates at least 5 days of safe drinking water for people in need in developing countries around the world.
WHO WE ARE
SpecialTeas Tea Shop is owned and operated by Kat and Earl Dela Cruz. Kat and Earl moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Carson City at the end of 2013. Looking for a change from the fast paced urban life, Kat left her job at an accounting firm and Earl left his IT job at Fry's Electronics Headquarters. They both worked in Carson City for a year, while planning their big future in Nevada.
These newlyweds got married in Lake Tahoe right after quitting their jobs in Nevada at the end of 2014. Now they are onto a new life adventure together, owning and operating a business in the small town of Carson City.
